How to replace Compressor On 2007 Ford Taurus?

The instructions are similar for 2006 and 2007 ford Taurus Car models.

Compressor Removal & Installation For
3.0L (VIN S) ENGINE
3.0L (VIN U, 2) ENGINES

The details are as follows:----

3.0L (VIN S) Engine

NOTE

PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19D589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B only should be used as an A/C compressor lubricant.

NOTE

Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
2. Position the vehicle on a hoist with the gear selector in NEUTRAL.
3. Recover the refrigerant.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley.
5. Remove the RH radiator cooling fan.
6. Remove the lower radiator air deflector.
7. Remove the bolt and detach the compressor manifold and tube assembly and discard the O-ring seals.
8. Disconnect the field coil electrical connector.
9. Remove the two lower A/C compressor bolts.
10. Disconnect the compressor manifold and tube fitting at the suction accumulator and discard the O-ring seals.
11. Remove the three bolts and the bracket.
12. Remove the two upper A/C compressor bolts and the A/C compressor.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use new O-ring seals. Tighten the compressor mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
14. Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.
15. Evacuate, leak test and charge the A/C system.

3.0L (VIN U, 2) Engines

NOTE

PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19D589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B only should be used as an A/C compressor lubricant.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Recover the refrigerant.
4. Remove the RH and LH cooling fans.
5. Loosen the tensioner and remove the drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley.
6. Disconnect the compressor manifold and tube assembly and discard the O-ring seals.
7. Disconnect the compressor field coil electrical connector.
   
   NOTE

   The upper LH A/C compressor bolt must be removed with the A/C compressor.
8. Remove the four A/C compressor mounting bolts and remove the A/C compressor.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use new O-ring seals. Tighten the compressor mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
10. Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.
11. Evacuate, leak test and charge the A/C system.
