Crankshaft Damper Balancer replacing on Acura?


Crankshaft Damper (Balancer)
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION


The details are as follows :-----

2001-02 Models

NOTE
This procedure requires the use of the following special tools or their equivalents:



Holder handle 07JAB-001020A
Holder attachment, 50mm, offset 07MAB-PY3010A
Socket, 19mm 07JAA-001020A or a commercially available 19mm socket

  1. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and holder attachment (B).
  2. Remove the bolt with a heavy duty 19mm socket (C) and breaker bar.

  3. Remove any oil from the pulleys (A), crankshaft (B), bolt (C), and washer (D). Clean and lubricate the points shown in the accompanying illustration.

To install:
  1. Install the crankshaft pulley, and tighten as follows: Do not use an impact wrench:
    1. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and holder attachment (B).
    2. Tighten the bolt with a torque wrench and 19mm socket (C) to 181 ft. lbs. (245 Nm).

2003-06 Models

NOTE
This procedure requires the use of the following special tools or their equivalents:



Holder handle 07JAB-001020A
Holder attachment, 50mm, offset 07MAB-PY3010A
Socket, 19mm 07JAA-001020A or a commercially available 19mm socket

  1. Remove the right front wheel.
  2. Remove the splash shield.
  3. Remove the drive belt.

  4. Hold the pulley with the holder handle (A) and holder attachment (B).
  5. Remove the bolt with a heavy duty 19mm socket (C) and breaker bar, then remove the crankshaft pulley.

To install:
  1. Remove any oil or clean the pulleys (A), crankshaft (B), bolt (C), and washer (D). Lubricate new engine oil as shown in the accompanying illustration.

  2. Install the crankshaft pulley, and tighten the bolt as follows. Do not use an impact wrench.
    1. Hold the pulley with the handle (A) and holder attachment (B), then tighten the bolt to 47 ft. lbs. (64 Nm) with a torque wrench and 19mm socket (C).
    2. Mark (D) the bolt head and crankshaft pulley as shown, then tighten the bolt an additional 60 º (The mark on the bolt head line up with the mark on the crankshaft pulley).

Mark (D) the bolt head and crankshaft pulley as shown, then tighten the bolt an additional 60 º (The mark on the bolt head line up with the mark on the crankshaft pulley).
  3. Install the drive belt.
  4. Install the splash shield.
  5. Install the right front wheel.
