Acura 1994 to 2000 Upper Control Arm Replace?


Upper Control Arm
INSPECTION
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The details are as follows :----

INSPECTION



  1. Raise and support the front end of the vehicle. Remove the front wheels.
  2. Check for play in the upper control arm by moving the upper end of the steering knuckle.
  3. If there is any play, replace the bushings in the upper control arm after removing the upper control arm.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the front wheel.
  2. Remove the cotter pin and the upper control arm-to-steering knuckle nut.
  3. Using a suitable ball joint removal tool, separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle.
  4. Remove the upper control arm-to-chassis nuts, washers and the upper control arm from the vehicle.
  5. To remove the bushings, remove the anchor bolts from the control arm and press the bushings out of the housing.
To install:
  1. If removed, press new bushings into the housing. Install the anchor bolts and torque the nuts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  2. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedures. Tighten the upper control arm-to-chassis nuts to 47 ft. lbs. (65 Nm) and the upper control arm ball joint-to-steering knuckle nut to 32 ft. lbs. (42 Nm).
